About Us

Our founder Monica Joy has been a Virtual Assistant for more than fifteen years. She’s worked in various industries and clients and specializes in the healthcare industry, helping medical professionals establish, build, and organically grow outreach in their communities and online presence. Monica has worked with such companies as: Chevron, Golden Gate University, and Alameda Alliance as well as small, privately-owned practices.

Over the last two years, Monica founded and built Assistants In Mind as a place for Virtual Assistants to come together and share their experiences and journey as Freelancers while actively combating the “grind” culture that encourages professionals to embody in order to find success. Monica believes a healthy business is only as healthy as the mind and body of the one running it by promoting sustainable practices. Her podcast, blogs, and eBooks are designed to help new and experienced Freelance Virtual Assistants discover their ideal clients and create a work environment that works for them.

Our Strategy

Transforming lives through pushing the boundaries

AIM was designed with the Virtual Assistant in mind. Many people looking to break into Virtual Assisting hesitate to make the career change because they may not see the value or think VAing is a legitimate way of making an income. AIM's target is to shatter the common stereotypes, prejudices, and myths  surrounding Virtual Assisting and create a more inclusive community for men and women alike. The industry is evolving, and as more businesses grow and seek ways to save on overhead costs, VA’s need to keep pace with the business sector.

It is also AIM’s goal to help Virtual Assistants work with the client of their dreams and build a business to be proud of. Too often, when newer VA’s start out they accept work regardless of the pay or client. But our goal is to help you leverage the skills you already have (whether it’s writing, graphic design, excellent conversational skills) and take the experiences from your current job and career and apply it to your freelancing business. Not just to niche down, but niche down with purpose.
