For years I created an illusion of who I was supposed to be on the outside. I went to college, got a great job, traveled to foreign countries, got married, and continued to move up the corporate ladder.
My Story
To everyone looking in, I was thriving, BUT on the inside, I was drowning. Every want, the dream of starting my own business, and goal I craved, I ignored. I took my life for granted and convinced myself the yearning I felt inside my soul was something everybody experienced.
And then Covid happened. I lost my job then the ultimate heartbreak, my divorce and it cracked the illusion wide open. I couldn't lie to myself any longer. I wasn't happy, nowhere near it, and living the way I was. I never would be. I deserved to feel loved. Scrap that. I deserved to love myself. To wake up each morning, look in the mirror, and be damn proud of the woman staring back at me.
So, I went on a journey of self-discovery. Instead of focusing on everybody else, I made myself a priority for the first time in my life. I researched, laughed, and cried, but most importantly, I took action. I realized that I had two options, I could continue to hide and silently suffer or shine a light on everything that made me, me.
I chose the latter, and it was that that truly transformed my life. It was far from easy, but I’ve gone from a woman who dreaded waking up each morning to a glowing entrepreneur who helps other humans who feel like I did conquer their fears and kick their demons to the curb.
Self-doubt lives within us all, but facing it is the first step to uncovering our hidden gems. So take my hand, and I promise, one day soon, you'll be living the life you crave.
